‘1, 2, 3’ - Solo Show
The Third Line, Dubai, 2018

Series 2 was the second of three series of works that I presented in my first solo exhibition, ‘1,2,3’ in 2018. Series 2, comprised of eight pieces, presented the most colorful works in the show. After having spent five months working with ultra-thin black lines on Series 1, I began to incorporate colors into these smaller grids (8 x 8 in.) while still using the same parameters and techniques. I mapped out a method to use a spectrum of 8 colors (roughly approximating the visible spectrum of light) that would oscillate back and forth once per inch, resulting in a wave of psychedelic vibrations. While Series 1 explored shifting patterns within a constant color, Series 2 explored shifting colors within a constant pattern.
