Pixel Print 1
2019, Edition of 50
Digital Artwork, Print on Archival Paper
81.28 cm x 81.28 cm
Pixel Print 1 was the first print I created in December 2018, so I wanted to experiment with a different geometric language than hand-drawn lines. Instead, I created this digital artwork with the compilation of tiny black and white square pixels, each of which is only 1/16th of an inch in size (less than 2mm). This piece uses 256,144 pixels configured as a three-fold self-similar fractal pattern. I started this as a simple 8 pixel by 8 pixel pattern that continually builds on itself mathematically to create increasingly complex iterations until it arrived at its final size of 512 pixels by 512 pixels.
