Your Favorite Artist’s Favorite Artist # 2

This piece was created for a group exhibition at the Joshua Liner Gallery in NY, called “Your Favorite Artist’s Favorite Artist # 2”. For this show, each of the gallery’s artists selects another artist from outside the gallery’s roster that they want their work to be paired with.

I was chosen by my friend Jason Seife to exhibit alongside one of his paintings based on traditional Iranian carpets. To create a complimentary pairing, I used the same proportionate dimensions as his piece and incorporated the same dominant colors from his work: Red, Blue and Black. The result was this work that employs ultra-thin 0.2mm hand-drawn lines that start simply but gradually build up to culminate in a heavy diagonal twisting effect in the center.
