I have always had a fascination with the formation of gradients. I am intrigued with the idea of tiny units, changing unnoticeably over time to gradually undergo a complete conversion. I wanted to explore this idea with the use of lines drawn in just two opposing colors. The piece starts at the top with the triangular convergence of dark blue lines in the center of a field of magenta mesh, and progresses downwards to eventually invert at the bottom of the piece in reversed colors. As the frequency of one color abates on the visual linear trajectory, the frequency of the other color intensifies. This results in the creation of interstitial spaces between the extremities - merging color, pattern and texture to blur the exact transition point from one state to another.
